    Lol
I see , I can chime in a little although I never accepted a position with them I left during orientation in 2008 cause of pushing that lease ...

They had a guy come in and tell you just how much you would make etc .. I was the only one out of 8 in my class that turned it down they got pissy and then pushy about it so I parted before I finished orientation on my own dime

Let me correct what Big Al said....

Actually when I first went to ACT they were a very good company to work and had kind of a family atmosphere. Then as they tried to expand they lost that. First mistake was bringing in Wayne Anderson and he in turn hired some guy from Green Bay to be VP of Operation. The idiot came in with a chip on his shoulder and if you didn't agree to his every word you were fired.

Some of the changes they made were making us stay out on the weekend and then not having the miles to keep you busy. So you would lose home time and end up spending more money being out on the road. Then they got the routing and fuels program for the qualcomms. They would love to send you out of route to buy fuel, but not pay you for the OOR Miles. I was on my way to Billings, MT from KC and was sent to Miles City, MT (Pilot) to buy fuel (You do the math) Well this is where me and Goober from Green Bay had words and after being sent off route several times I just refused to do it. WHY? Because I had friends in the back office and I was getting our so called saving, the state taxes/road taxes and putting a pen to paper and it didn't make sense. Not only that I had to log the miles, but wasn't being paid for them. I don't like to work for free.

Well we had a heated exchange and we went into the fact that we were losing accounts right in our own back yard. He proceeded to tell me that I was a driver and didn't know #### about operations. Well you don't have to work in operations to understand trucking. When he told me freight is always slow in KC in April and May I had to laugh at him and finally told him that he was a ####### idiot. Yes I was fired, but he didn't last long either. I don't think he lasted an entire year. Wayne Anderson is also gone.

Now other problems were Arron Thompson who ran the new shop was penny wise and pound foolish. I asked for my steer tires to be changed and the truck needed an alignment. My forearms were hurting after the days driving. I was told "next service" three times. Well they were clearly out of service. There was a DOT Blitz going on in Illinois and I pulled in and asked DOT to check them and I was placed OOS and they had to put on two new steer tires.

Now Arron Thompson is President of Operation. They once paid well and paid on PRACTICAL MILES, but they have changed that now and are back on DINOSAUR MILES so they lost money. Now they your pay revolves around your fuel mileage and a bunch of other carrot and stick deals. I have some friends who still work there because health insurance and pre-existing conditions or they would leave because they say the miles are so hit and miss. They say their W-2's are far off of what they were in years past.

Nothing like a company going backwards instead of forwards!
