USX will cover their requirements for Layover/Detention pay during orientation. I never worked for them, so that's all I know.

R U gonna leave Swifty ????

Already did. I did so back in September because I got a job offer in my preferred career field (aviation) which fell through. Now, I'm back to trucking. Not ideal at all because of being away from my family, but my financial situation is even worse now than it was when I quit trucking. That job in the aviation industry would have fixed it all...
Oh well. Swift has offered to re-hire me but they want me to go back out with a trainer! USX will let me go out solo right off the bat and pay me more anyway. They have similar health, dental, etc. And of all the companies I "interviewed" (60+ questions), my USX recruiter knew what she was talking about. No "uhhs" and "umms" like with Schneider and others. Plus, my brother drove for them years ago, and before I even got the chance to tell him who I was preferring, he said he would rather I pick USX over Swift any day. That sorta sealed the deal if USX will hire me.
Just waiting for them to approve my application.123456 Thanks this. -
USX still is refusing to pay me layover/detention for several weeks. In orientation they tell you, it would l be paid and how all information can easily be tracked through the Driver Tech System. BUT, even though dispatch promises to pay layover you gotta fight to get it, and write to management exact dates, times, where you were, and why you're requesting layover/detention pay. - I am screwed since I believed my dispatcher when they promised to pay layover/detention. They never did, and I did not keep track since I am on Electronic Logs. Hence, I do not get anything. - SO, YOU must keep track of everything yourself, and write letters to management and fight for it.

It really depends on your FM......you do have to remind them, sometimes, but mine is really good about getting me layover and breakdown pay......detention pay can be hard to get because you have to be held up for at least 3 hours, the in and out times have to be on the invoices (even if it means you put them there yourself with a notation that they refused to put them there)....I have never got detention pay.

You REALLY have an awful FM. You need to contact your Fleet Owner and get your FM replaced.

You're right. But I'm not doing anything about it anymore. My guy is getting an L-truck for us, so from next week some things are gonna be a lil different anyway.

I wish you the very best of luck. I know things have not been going well. Keep a good attitude and with the changes ahead, I am sure life will be good.

Thank you! Oh yes.... you know me! Always look at the bright side. I just love the trucking hell....
SheepDog Thanks this.
