That's the craziest thing I have ever heard. I call my accountant tomorrow...

The 4,500 number was from ronin who runs team with his wife and says they can only make $900 a week.

I often run solo and sometimes train. That's why my mileage is lower than ronin's example. However, I am very satisfied with the money I make either way...

Then your example should match up Ronins situation. First as he stated, he was clipped for $212 a week for workers comp. Second his maintenance account was more likely .07 as opposed to the .05 you used.

Third he was on a dedicated account. Unless you are on Walmart, CRE will pay as low as .82 for loaded miles.

Last dedicated accounts tend run lower miles than optimum for a team truck ... ie 4500 a week as opposed to the 6000 my son and I averaged OTR.

Take all that into account and $900 is about right for Ronin's situation.

I won't fault a man who is satisfied with his income, good luck to you.

Where is your medical insurance? You DO have a health insurance policy AND a disability insurance policy too I hope.
Do NOT think workers comp is going to cover your costs if you stub your toe! What if you get seriously sick? That is one cost no one ever counts on as if you will never get sick or hurt. Workers comp is a freaking joke! It will NOT pay you to feed yourself much less your family if you have one OR make a payment for you!

Do some more "math" and call around for medical insurance unless CRE has a group plan you can join then call that duck company for a rate for disability. That plan WILL make payments for you where the gooberment plan is still a joke! ALL workers comp does is pay you the amount you paid in on taxes!

After you have those amounts do some more math and lets see where you are.

OOPS! You forgot one tiny little withdrawal! Your taxes! Go back and figure out what your taxes will be and subtract them from the gross also! Yes you have to pay them in quarterly unless you like the small late fees you'll pay at the end of the year until you file which is where you will get money back but do not listen to people tell you that you do not HAVE to pay quarterly! If you like to throw money away to pay the late fee then have at it but quarterly payment to your uncle makes it easier at the end of the year!

Your post is the main reason why people fail in their own buisness. They do not think before they act, and make decisions based on emotions, and not facts! When you lease, or own your truck you better be able to cover these expenses someway, and half a great work ethic about you.

I don't know where you got the idea that ronin is running, let alone running team with his wife. I believe he was "speaking metaphorically." As far as I know, ronin is not driving at all right now. Unless I have missed something. (Which is always a good possibility.)

Jr. there is no disrespect intended here, but you really do need to check your ideas and beliefs, before they lead to your bankruptcy. It is way to easy to take the company's word on things.

Trust and believe all you want to, but VERIFY THE FIGURES AND FACTS.

I run CRE over the road and get .90 per mile loaded. Why is there so much wrong information on this forum?...

Okay, that is what YOU get. Or are you saying there aren't any loads making .82 mile?

I was quoting my average pay settlements from CRE from June-August 2009. Not much has changed, for sure. My wife and I were teaming, and we ran dedicated from May to August. Started with them in late January.

I'll be back to driving soon enough, but I'll still be doing the lawfirm gig - I can do that on my laptop until a major trial w/inspection comes up, then I'll take time off.

I'm buying a truck this week...

Those are your arguments that Jeff England runs a decent company?

How about when Jeff England is standing down stairs talking crap about a driver and doesn't know who the driver is, and I happen to be the driver he is running his pie hole about standing there listening to him? What about that... not very mormon like. What about when he is called on his mis-statements, untrue facts or just plain wrong information he gets in a huff and runs away to his office. Within a week I am asked for the keys to the truck and fuel card at the gate by that skank Crickett Campbell. When I am told that I being terminated and ask for a reason I am told "this is Utah, a right to work state, we don't have to give you a reason". They tossed my stuff out of the truck onto the ground on told me to get off the property. I then went to cash a Comcheck from my payroll account so that I could get home, only to find out that they had turned the account off so I was stranded without any money on a Saturday evening.

What about any of that sounds like Jeff England or any of the snot nosed England brats run a good company?

You wanted facts, you got facts. Free washers and dryers... oh boy... Do they give away free baloon animals too?

Oh and by the way, Sean Webb is a punk too! Got tell all of them, I want them to know and they can't do a darn thing about it. I am in Texas, a right to spread the truth state and they can kiss my black(cat) a$z!!
