First, let me say that PTDI has no meaning to any recruiter I have ever spoken with. My school pushed that whole angle too. Boot camp is required for all new drivers. It is not anything to be worried about as long as you can handle a truck and are a good listener. Training time is 7,500 miles with a driver finisher. I personally finished mine in 12 days, but I also know of others that it took nearly a month. It greatly depends on your finisher. I lucked out and got a good one who liked to run very hard. Nice equipment is a huge plus. You will get whatever is available. I started out in a 2006 KW. After three weeks in that truck I got a brand new Prostar. The singles are no big deal so far, but I haven't been thru a winter with them yet either.

Thanx Katey for the update. Sounds pretty good. What terminal do you guys run out of? We live in El Dorado, AR. and will be running out of Lancaster, TX. Know anything about this terminal? Or the TX's area as far as runs go?
-
Cool thx ya I wouldnt install it myself just wanting to know if I had my own if they would allow it

Either way though, what terminal you are based out of really only affects what runs you get going on hometime or coming off, other than that (unless you go regional) it really doesn't make any difference.
As far as runs, CWTL has a lot of freight in TX. As solo you would get stuck doing short tractor supply runs sometimes (in Waco) but teams don't really get em. A lot of team runs go to Laredo, where you go from there varies widely though. -
Probably 40 or 50 miles closer to W. Memphis but there is a driver (pebbles) that lives in El Dorado and runs out of Lancaster. She says that Lancaster is a really good terminal with really good people. She says they get you closer to El Dorado when you want to go home. She didn't care for W. Memphis terminal to much. I'm just going by what I here. That's why I enjoy reading these post. Very informative.

Ah ok I see
We are not close enough to any of the truckload terminals to be run out of them. We use the Atlanta yard as our domicile terminal I think (never changed it when we moved from GA to KY). -
