I have been with May for 7 months now and what i have experienced is low miles and a crappy policy of having drivers sit and not pay them. If you sit at a shipper for up to 4 hrs, you dont get paid until after the 5th hour and then take your load to a reciever and sit for 4 more hrs, you dont get paid, that really kills a day. I was broke down in the Brooks terminal for 60+ hrs and only got paid for one day, and recently noticed they were taking money out of my check for a 401k program that they automatically enrolled me in without my knowledge or conscent. I am new to the trucking industry and dont really have enough experience with how things are done and which companies are the worst, so its really hard to tell. I dont think May is all bad, but there are some things they need to work on in order to be the best.

trucking company or not if they offer a 401k match program its automatically taken out of your check unless you state otherwise
-
Not really, they have to request you enroll. It is not "automatic"..Just another way to steal/hide your money because they know you won't be there long enough to collect..

As a former May driver, i knew going in i would'nt be their long. so i opted out of their 401k program during orenitation. miles were watched closely along with idle time with no consideration of outside temp's.
detention pay is not very forthcoming, meaning they make it difficult.
all in all it was'nt as bad as some of the stories i have read about other companies.
