I have to say a couple of things about this:

First, this is about control. Government control and big business control.

Second, you just can't fix stupid even with a computer.

Third, someone please show me an example of government regulation really improving something.

Fourth, things like this will just cause the envelope to be pushed in different and more creative ways.

I can't believe people are so gullable to buy "wolves in sheep's clothing" all the time. For Heaven's sake the bible warned us about this. Many of us will give up all our freedom for a false sense of security.

Those of you that support government control of our lives when you think it is right can now go back to burying your heads in the sand and basking in the sunlight. Those of us that oppose it will still be fighting the fight when they try to control something that you don't think is right. Stand your ground or lose your freedom - yes it is that simple. If you have not seen the path our freedom is taking you must live under a rock in a Geico commercial.

    It's about a lot more than E-Logs.

Fatalities per 100 Million Vehicle Miles Traveled (1975 - Present)

Fatalities per 100 Million Vehicle Miles Traveled has decreased since the implementation of the Roadside Inspection Program in 1984, the CR/Safety Rating Program in 1986, and the PRISM SafeStat Program in 1999 until 2008.
The new CSA Program is the next generation FMCSA safety program aimed to maximize federal and state enforcement agencies efforts to reduce the commercial vehicle related fatality rate. The FMCSA has taken a new approach to how the agency evaluates the safety of motor carriers and drivers.

Here comes a shocker. Your wrong.

    http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regu...oposed/EOBR-and-HOS-Supporting-Documents.aspx

The NPRM is for all carriers required to use rods now. So unless you know some super secret exemption for small carriers............

And all the fruits and nuts screaming government intrusion. Can you explain the difference between an EOBR and current logs other than it takes away your ability to lie? Well at least make it more complicated to devalue your character, reputation, and your wallet when caught stealing use of public roads?

There is none. It will track exactly what is supposed to be tracked now.

That is the simple fact. All the rest is invalid and irrelevant.

So the summation is EOBR's are opposed by those requiring falsehoods to conduct their business on a public highway. Learn to operate honestly with integrity and you will have no problems.

Now why do you want to show that stat disproving the commonly held knowledge that HOS causes more deaths daily(sorry I can not get the rolly eyed smiley on my phone). Geez dontcha know every real boy trucker says that every new law kills like 200% more people(again rolly eyed)

Maybe we should go back to mule teams and conestoga's when real men hauled frieght!

Perhaps you could copy and paste the relevant paragraph(s), or at least highlight the relevant section so we don't have to read the whole thing? Thanks.

So, when someone suggests it (and if you think someone hasn't already thought of it you're very naive), you won't have any opposition to all working truckers being required to wear a GPS ankle bracelet to ensure that they are, in fact, exactly where they say they are and when, i.e., when you log sleeper berth it will be required to prove you were actually in your sleeper berth. After all, the only thing it is does is "takes away your ability to lie" and you have nothing to hide and all that...

    Right?

Are these numbers just for trucks? It says vehical I assume that means all vehicals. Those are just deaths not accidents. What else change alot in the last few years? Airbags, seatbelt use, safer cars and trucks which save lives. The graph above is typical politicain science. Not all the facts!
I have yet to see how e logs can help. From what I have read most accidents happin in the first few hours of driving.
Hey I know maybe the best step would be to outlaw driving in the first few hours. Just think of the lives we would save.

My question exactly. They are for miles traveled in all vehicles. If they were commercial vehicles they would brag about that instead of skewing the numbers like they always do.

I stand on what I said and those of you posting this skewed data and thinking it proves your point, only prove mine. Put you heads back in the sand and enjoy your alternate reality and false sense of security that your government provides you.
