    PDAnet is definitely the way to go if you're not going to root, otherwise root the phone and you can use wireless tethering

    PDA net used to be free, but you could not go to https sites. The pay version would unlock that option.
    Also, you would have to get the app from the developers site as Verizon has blocked tethering apps.
