Hi all. Finaly got my trainer and we been busy. He's great. I started driving last thursday and we pull in here at the Ellenwood term with just 3 hours on my 70 left. I got in 2800 miles and 47 hours of driving in 5 days. Headed back out in the morning to start again.

For the first 75 hours the trainer is in the jump seat when not driving.....and I've spent a lot of time in the jump seat because Sean is a great driver....LOL. After that you can run Super Solo or Team.marquardt72 and Wedge Thank this.

What a day. I hope tomorrow is better. Got up[ this morning and went out to clean truck, got that and went and had breakfest. Get back to the hotel and my FM calls, asks if I got are pre asignment. I told him no and I was going to check. Turn on the computer and there it is, we got ready and started to leave and the computer started acting up. Well that was the end of it, black screen. Called DT services and the tech tried sending something thru to it and it would not except it. So on the phone again, try to get a hold of FM out to lunch, call safety dept. and I guess the only person that takes care of E logs is out to lunch. Trying to get in touch with or getting them to return your call is a pain. So we are heading to Fontana to drop are trailer and then to Colton to get computer and a couple of minor issues taken care. We are running paper logs, YAY. There's more, and i am done. I just wish there driver support was a little better.
Sorry for venting.
Craig Thanks for the tip on tapping brakes when cruise not working. It works.
Anna I have had the vorad hit the brakes when I have had someone cut in front of me. -
Wow...took a couple hours but have caught up to present day!
I love your wiliness to help out newbies with what to expect.
USX is on our list of possibilities. We have family that drove for them for over 6 years as a husband/wife team.
Have to admit not in the best of shape and the physical agility test has me a bit concerned. But this is something we want to do together....time to get out of this chair and exercise a bit.
Not worried about the drug screen (been doing those for years), pee test or even the DOT with letters of medication confirmation. But would like to know what else would disqualify someone during orientation?
How is your insurance (company driver) currently ours is a bit too high to my liking but then when you come from paying $24 week to over $115 it's a bit of a shock. How soon does it kick in?
Thanks for the input -
Congrats rain hope to see you on the road,

Our day is starting out really screwed up. Del was set for 0300 - 0900. We get here at 0800 and get told "Nope, you are scheduled for 1900 and it's a live unload"....so we are headed for Walmart for the day, will come back and deliver hoping to get out and back to Walmart before our 14 is up and then sit there for our 34.
-
As always, the best laid plans of mice and men get changed. Just got parked at Walmart and found out we could deliver....so a 20 minute drive back to Home Depot and now we are docked......Sean has discovered that she LOVES docking with the tandems all the way back....LOL.....me personally, I don't like it at all.
