Coming Over From the Dark Side!!

Hello All,

I use to be a General Manager for Pilot Travel Centers, LLC (now owners of Flying J as well). I stated with Pilot by completing my initial training in the Denver Colorado store. I went to Gallup, New Mexico for three months to finish my initial training, From there they moved me to Laramie, WY for an additional three months. After that I opened the Pilot Travel Center in Cheyenne, WY. I was let go a year later after I went off on a regional vice president that belittled the employees at the Cheyenne store. Basically i told him that if all he was going to do was talk negatively about the team that made the store as great as it was then he could get the F#&K out!!! . . . That didn't go over so well.

Anyway, I was in the Army 20 years before that as a mechanic on tractor trailers. So I figured why not become a driver!?! I already passed my DOT physical and got my CDL permit. Know I am talking to USA Truck Driving Schools about getting my license. Tomorrow they are having a job fair with reps from SWIFT, NAVAJO, WERNER, MAY, JBS CARRIERS and TRANS AM.

My question to all of you is which ones are the better companies to join up with. I am leaning heavily towards Swift. I am not dumb and know that no company is perfect. I know also that I have to put in my time in order to get one of the better paying rides. Just looking for some insight as to which one i should go with.

 

Yeah, after the Army and before Pilot I was a manager for Target stores and we received all of our deliveries from Swift drivers. Don't know much about Swift itself, but the drivers always seemed to be a good group of guys!
