So my friends here at the TTR... its time for a update. I went three weeks ago to get my finger prints done for my hazmat endorcement. It came back Monday and it said I am in fact free and clear to take the written test. Needless to say these last two days I have been studying like a mad man. I found a good comprehensive practice test, with 50 questions on it. I plan on taking the actual written test tomorow thats only 30 questions. So with the practice test I took it once yesterday, got a 88% on it. Today I retook it and got a 94% on it. Im liking them percentages. So now im only down to getting my written test, knocking that out of the park and then passing my driving test. I will update tomorow about the test after I take it. Wish me luck!

Good luck with your test!Just an FYI those practice helps out but it more likely you wouldn't see the same questions on the real test but they do help.
-
I passed!!! I got a 27 out of 30
So im one step closer to joining ya'll on the road. All im down to is getting a road test in and passing it.
-
Good luck. I'm talking to an owner right now that works with FedEx and Panther.
I'm also going to keep shopping around in the meantime and see what other fleet owners are running. -
Best Of Luck to you FYI I would shy away from Panther if I were you they are going down hilll fast
-
All depends who you speak too.I been speaking to Panther drivers on another forum and its like any other company, got your good and bad.I wasn't to thrilled about them either but after talking to some of there drivers, its isn't all that bad.Not the best company but its a job.

Actually I haven't really heard back from that last fleet.
However in the meantime I think I'm developing a serious offer from a Fleet owner contracting with Tri-State. I feel better about this job offer. A previous guy got cold feet at the last minute and I might be able to grab his Cargo Van. -
Someone seen my add on EO and called me yesterday. I didnt get to talk to him then, but i called today. He runs a transport company haulin cars around. One option was a i think he said single axle semi which id need the CDL A for it. Or hes got a one ton dualy pick up with a three car wedge trailor. Ive never drivin anything with a trailor before. so that kinda scares me right there. But he said he could keep me busy, by time i get done with one load he'd have another set up for me. He has to turn down about 15 to 20 cars a day because he dont have enough drivers. Im really thinking about this but just the thing with the trailor makes me scared as all hell
-
That's weird. I decided to throw my name out on EO and got a call from the same guy to haul cars.
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor job but of all the job leads I've received I like this one the best. His payroll and fuel card plan seem much easier to work with. Personally I'm aggressively pursuing this. As of now I think my application just has to be cleared with his insurance. I have my CDL A so I'll probably get the Freightliner.
As for driving with this trailer it doesn't seem so bad. At least you won't be docking. Just watch your mirrors and turn wide and pay attention to over head clearance. -
Wow thats weird! And ill prolly end up opting into the 1 ton pick up, do you know how much he pays a mile? Or any other info on him? I told him id call back in a day or two. Im just nervous as all holy hell driving a trailor cause again thats gonna be a whole new animal to me
