Yeah the just walk on into the office was really cool. Much different than other terminals thats for sure. Also last time I went to Oklahoma City to tcall a load the night guy was like just come on in. Scanners still in the lounge but still more friendly than most.

All of these terminals don't seem half bad which is a good thing eases my mind even more, so swift drivers how do y'all like your trucks, do they run smoothly?, are they comfortable inside?, i know all the trucks aren't bad or good it all depends on how the previous operator treated it and maintained it

Mine has been good to me so far. Two months with it and only time I have had to see the inside of a shop is for problems with a trailer. The trailers will get you if your not careful, if your somewhere with a choice of trailers to grab I would check a few out and take the best one before I do my empty call. My record so far is 3 breakdowns in 2 days with 2 different trailers so far. Lucky for me I was able to get these taken care of while on my 10 so didn't really cost me any money.

i always wondered how most swift trailers i see are still in one piece with so many of them it's hard to maintain them especially when some drivers dont really inspect them post trip and fill out or submit reports on them, something i always wondered to is when your assigned a load how do you know which trailer to get do you identify them by the numbers on them?
-
Yes, all trailers are numbered. You can tell the older ones that way also. Also the 14 footers and the 57 long ones.

ok i see, i just hope that the truck i get doesn't give me too many problems or any for that matter lol. and for the trailers i guess im gonna have to roll with whatever i'm assigned shoot as long as i'm driving and making money i'm happy.

Sometimes you get to pick one, like a drop and hook at a big DC, sometimes you have to take the one thats there already like the crappy T series trailer I have today. I'm dreading sweeping this one out but I'm sitting at a TA and on my 10 so I'll probably put it off til morning when its nice and cool. I always try and grab the new ones with the skirts when I can, they usually pull nice and are in good shape, downside is you better make sure not to curb it. Paid off one time for sure so far, get pulled in for a level 2 inspection on I81 in NY and I have a 5 month old trailer, he tried but could not find anything to write on his little report so no points for me!!! Always make sure to check your lights, tires, brakes and doors at the very least these are where the problems usually are.

now when you say sweep it out do you mean actually sweep out? but that's good that you were lucky enough to have a good trailer and didn't get any points tacted on, and will do i'll make sure to check and re-check before i pull out of the yard.

Yep get a broom and sweep it out. Or in the case of this one pick up the 15 or so cardboard corners carry them to the dumpster and then sweep the garbage bag full of crap that these guys left behind for me. Seriously this trailer looks like a bomb went off in it and had a light out when I got it. Some customers are very very picky about trailers so its always best to clean it out before you go. This one I just couldn't even think of showing up for a live load with the way it is, its that bad.
