giants14701, I believe there are a couple of runs that go into and out of nyc, but nyc is not forced. As for hiring out of ny, I don't know. You'd have to call and ask.

Can anybody give me any information on j s helwig? I need some quick information. I should hear back from them by the weekend. No 1 or 2 sentence answers plz. I need some good solid information. I will tell you where i'm at and tell you where i'm trying to go. I work for a really good company out of little rock. Excellent people excellent equipment I get good miles really nothing bad to say about the company BUT (u knew a but was coming) they only pay. 35 cents per mile and they say their pay is frozen and I have talked to a few drivers here that have been here for 3 4 5 plus yrs. I run the miles and bring home $1000.00 or so a wk. But i'm trying to work smarter not harder! Back to j s I have not heard anything bad about the company. I spoke with recruiting seem like really nice folks . Seen nice equipment and I have a couple of questions I would love for somebody that works or has worked for them to answer.
    1) what does orientation consist of?
    2) do they make drvrs do a pre-trip inspection and adriving test?(don't laugh I used to work at florilli and they don't do either)
    3) wintertime? (Do they run west and make u chain up)
    4) do they run legal?
    5) do they have easy pass?

Basically I need some good solid info on this company. I don't want to jump out the frying pan into the fire. Any info will be greatly appreciated! But hurry! I should hear back from them by this weekend. Thanks for your time to read this:biggrin_255:

Hello again! Well i'm set up for orientation with j s helwig for the 26th of this month and I am real excited! I talked to a helwig driver and he told me pleanty about the company and I can not wait. I was hoping to get some feedback from someone before I went to them, but going anyway and I will post periodically to let others know how it is with helwig. Wish me luck fellow drivers.

Do you get any runs in or through Denver? I was told nyc is forced dispatched.
I live 45 minutes from the Helwig yard but deciding between Helwig and JBS Carriers.
    $2000 sign on is enticing

    APU's?
    Paper logs?
    Qcom?
    Truck Speed?
    Is everything forced dispatch?

    Thanks for any info

I got my paperwork in, and was told they are waiting on new trucks coming in.
I was told $2000 sign on, 39cpm, home ever 2 weeks.

Called to check on my app today. Was told they have no trucks available, maybe a couple weeks. Supposedly 2012 KW T700 on order, no idea of arrival. They won't process apps until trucks are available
