nope, if you are gone more than 30 days you are required to do a refresher.

yes, i am aware. when a recruiter came to my school he told the students that if they do not find a job after graduation and decide LATER to finally go to Roehl, they too would not take a refresher mind you, but the entire course all over again. i do believe he said it was 90 days though. it's been awhile, and that was his first and ONLY visit to the school, so i may have the time lapse incorrect.

Let me clarify. I took the course at a Tech College that was 3 months long. I'm not doing that. I don't mind a three week course, even if I have to pay it out of pocket and get reimbursed.

Schneider will hire me if I do the 40-hour refresher. Then a short (3-week, I think) company training. Locally I can do that for $1333.00.

Sorry, I forgot you had less than a year. Still Schneider was the most flexible and from my research I could do a whole lot worse. I had a couple of better offers from owner/operators since. Right now I'm closing out a project I've been working on.

The point is there are options in most cases. Just throwing out some ideas.

ok, but the point being is that you first said, you will not go back to school, but in essence, YOU WILL BE GOING BACK TO SCHOOL...it ain't "my way" i am telling you, it's "THEIR WAY".......i wish it wasn't "THE WAY" but IT IS...

still that refresher will cost you some money, how much, i couldn't care less, but at my school, we get ( i do believe) $1,000 for one week (40 hours). at another school i worked at, they got $1,500 for 40 hours...

it certainly is QUICK CASH for the schools to get this money. they will not refuse too many people, heck, it saves them time for not having to teach classroom.

so in the end, YOU ARE GOING BACK TO SCHOOL, CDL in your wallet or not.....

Unfortunately for me, you are exactly right. I am not opposed to taking the 3 week course. It would do me some good. But there is NO WAY I was going to go 8 hours a day for 3 months like I originally thought.

    Thanks for you input! :)
