Interesting!!! Isn't it a requirement to speak English or enough English to understand instruction...

question, is it the truck it self or the dd15 engine, heard water coming in thru the windshield is one of the problems, so far i'm leaning towards the prostar PLUS, not the older one but the newer one that had changes made to it, no SCR which is a big plus, thanks

Our truck that is going in the shop is a 386. It is having consistent stop engine faults for the turbo actuator and burning massive oil. Suggestion to anyone with a cummins track your oil consumption (that is if it is your truck not a company truck, otherwise....). Anyway, the list of things we did not like about the freightliner is long. Windshield leak, mirrors are useless in the rain, the engine has been castrated - it has no cojones (can't pull a hill for jack), def (which costs us more than the oil), velcro curtains, uncomfortable seats that don't go low enough, wraparound dash that leaves no room to stretch your legs, 3" smaller bed, plastic everything everywhere, steering controls get accidentally hit when going down the road, smaller fridge, only one door to access under the bunk, you have to slam the door to get it to stay shut, no carpet, and it is super top heavy (so it handles poorly in rain and wind). Things we liked, when you get the doors shut it is quiet, the new qualcomm (which includes games for bored people), and the adjustable height seatbelts.

To sum it up it felt like a bigger version of my chevy trailblazer, and I am sorry, I drive a truck not an overgrown SUV. When I want to drive an SUV I will go home or rent one, not up to paying nearly three times our house payment for one.

Of course that is my opinion, and opinions are like rear ends, everyone has one, some are bigger and some are just different.

Got a phone call from central's collection agency the other day. Yhey said i owe central 4659 dollars. Well i said whats its for the girl on the other end could not tell me . So i said send me a letter stating what it is for and if it's legit i'll send you the money. So about 1 week later i get a letter from partners finacial with my last two check stubs in it. This still does not tell me what i owe them so un till they can get their crap toegher on their end they aint seeing #### from me. Now last year the same thing went on but it was for 400 dollars and was for unpaid prepass and overmilage . Well guess what i was a company driver not a lease op so i dont owe them for nothing. This place is nothing but organized crime... Steal steal steal from those who keep you in business. This is the first time i have said this but future drivers beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spoke with a recurter from Central. I would like to get some current info on them.

I will be starting out in GA for 4 days then onto Salt Lake City UT for a 1 1/2 weeks. Then on the road with a trainer for 5 weeks. If all goes well I get my own truck. The training pay once you are on the road is 450.00 a week then when you are on your own the pay starts at .28 after 6mo .29 then after another 6mo .30. Is this true?

For all you company drivers how many miles a week do you average currently? How is the paperwork submitted to them for pay?

Like with every other company the dispatchers and trainers can be hit or miss. I would like to hear some current experiences.

    How are the heath benefits?

It seams to me that, they are not in your face about leasing a truck. Am I wrong? I do want to become an O/O, but not for at least a year.

He told me they pay for transport and the place to stay. I did not ask if it was a hotel or dorm. It does not really matter, I expert to have more than one person to a room. Just out of curiosity how many do they cram into a room?

I live in New Jersey, but it looks like I'll be getting my CDL in UT, how does that work? I did not ask the recruiter that. I figured I would get a better answer from people who have had to do it. I was also told the only fee is 65.00. Is this true?

They also take out 25.00 from my pay for school. Which will cost 1200.00 if I stay for one year. Is this true?

    DONT DO IT...

The prostar plus uses the new international engine.
It is an old Cat block, with a bunch of crap bolted to it.
80% EGR. Meaning that 80% of your exhaust will be going back into the engine. To carbon foul everything in it.
Plus they are having serious issues with many other systems on those trucks.
My company has bought quite a few and all drivers are mad that are in them. No power, jake may as well not even be on the truck, AC broken on many, etc.
The regular prostar with the cummins is much better. Mine has 300k on it so far and no breakdowns. You do have to get the DPF cleaned every year. But that is about it.

The new engines using the fluid are even better than those without. Yes, it costs a few extra bucks a day. But you will have more power and much better fuel economy. Trust me. If I was going to be a ####### and lease a truck that I will never own. That is the route I would go. Oh, and DEF is cheaper at the pumps than in the jugs.

Or you can go with the DD13 or 15. Which is a GREAT engine. And has very few issues. This is purely a comment on the engine, not the truck.

As for what you ask is true. Yes all is but the $65. I am not positive but it is more like $160. Miles I can't say as I am a trainer. 2 people to a room. Get your temp cdl in Utah then transfer to your home state in a certain number of days. You will have time to get it transferred.

Actually they take out 57.25 and put back $25.00 unless you are a honorably discharged vet (dd214 required as proof). If you are a vet than you get it all back.

You can expect to pay $100.00 plus the cost of the license and food.
