I couldn't agree more. Starting out at anything can be tough. Throw in the economy we have now and we're all lucky to have a job.
As long as you know what you're getting into, I say go for it. Since some people seem to be happy, it is absolutely possible to be successful there.
With the attitude you two have you will do fine! -
I don't know about Schneider's training cost, but IMHO they are a cut above many to most of the others as far as a company goes. Again this is research not experience so take it FWIW.

I have applied to Prime, Swift, Stevens, and am looking into some others that have schools. I will definitely look into being a "pumpkin." lol It was actually one of the companies i had been looking into, but i can only find that they will reimburse for training not offer it. Maybe i am not looking hard enough and will go look again.

either way we slice it any company we go to for training we're stuck with for atleast 13 months but i see it worth it, shoot it's training and a class A cdl plus experience i think in the long run it'll pay off, sure beats trying to get your cdl all on your own by just taking the test's at the DMV and either failing too many times that you have to wait to re-apply for it or worse not having any experience driving and taking a skills test and putting people in danger

Check out post 27 in this thread:

The training is no longer free. -
I like the references to the other threads. I realize that many ?s have already been asked and i try my best to find them before I ask but it helps keep this thread from rehashing a subject already discussed. I appreciate all the help, keep it coming. -
Just applied to CRST. Paid training* and only 8 month commitment. Team driving only but i think i can deal with most people well as long as they are not total slobs or want to have cats on the truck. lol There are horror stories but i still think its worth it specially for only 8 months. Hopefully if I decide to go with them they will turn out to be not so bad. some people seem to like and some it helps them when they finally get to go solo for someone else. They realize solo trucking is what they want to do.
