maybe the best cameras to have would be mounted inside the cab with an overall view of the area to catch any truck leaving the spot on either side..or, have cameras mounted on the west coast mirror brackets that can give 360 degrees of view..?? i mean if it comes down to that absurd an idea to catch a hit and run driver, suspend his drivers license, perhaps instant firing of THAT driver and DAC'd for life as a "hit and run driver, property damage"...this will surely (we would all hope) puts an end to some driving careers...
since no one wishes to accept responsibility for their actions, then instant firings (no discussion or second chances ever) are the only way to go. this in turn will guarantee all students in trucking schools a chance to get a job...
oh and should it be an o/o...?? take away his business license as well as suspend his driving license, since all that can be done to a company driver is firing/license suspension.
but sadly, since these are private properties, this will not happen. so all any company can do..?? is fire the SOB's......
put cameras on ALL trucks and an instant message via satellite to the company when an accident is detected, even hitting the docks too hard like some drivers do. better to set off a "false alarm" of an incident or accident, then to let someone get away with damages..
