Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

i live with EU COE, AU version COE and AU/US hoods.

most of these EU trucks are great for the first few years, but after 4-5 they begin to rattle apart. Converesley, the long hood trucks ride almost as smooth without the wobbly feeling from having the cab on air, tend to last longer and even wear tires less.

I understand that space ( moreso the lack of ) has necessitated the COE in EU, but where possible, a longer truck is light years better for driver comfort.

hard to comprehend, but my direct experience says this is so.

 

I know, I had a friend that had a stretched out 379 Peterbuilt with a small flat top sleeper. He had it lowered and had a big texas bumper on it. He was all about forum over function at that time. he sold it and got out of the business but he told me that if he ever got back into it he would have a larger sleeper and not quite so stretched out.

About US COEs... Argosy comparing with Actros is a brutal box! Runs rought, noisy... The same I'd say about 9800.

Mack Quantum is the rebranded Renault Premium, the cheappest Volvo Group truck, but.... company I work for got 20 new premiums with Volvo D11 engines. And I drove one for test. Runs really well, smooth, 400 hp engine is not so gutless, really good for driver truck, but small sleeper and limited cabine height in driver's area.

 

Quite strange how it can be vice versa in southern Africa? I've never been in Australia but I have driven through African continent and I bet the roads are worse there. And the drivers..

Air suspended cab is not good, Scania sells cabs with fixed front and steel spring rear, that's what my next truck will have.

 

you traveled quite much if i remember good you have already wrote somewhere that you was in kazahstan, we consider here traveling to germany as long distance if someone go in spain we consider it almost like it is "end of the world"

i am not sure does scania offers topline with mechanical suspension and if they offer it is only with 4springs

Drivers maybe, roads......... well

Lets just say that entirley depends on the day and location.

 

It's not standard with Topline but same parts fit all R cabins.

also in armenia roads are so bad that pedestrian walk almost same speed as truck drive

 

It was a holiday trip, or actually 2, with an old banger Toyota Land Cruiser. I sold the cars and flew home.

There would be no sense to haul any load that far with truck, Sudan and Mauretania maybe but not further.

I's like to do a trip to Kyrgyzstan, some of my friends did earlier, Moscow was the farthest east I ever went with the truck.
