Really? Another difference. A BOL is contract between the shipper and the carrier and therefore the terms and conditions of that contract should be clearly laid out on the document.

I just sign someone else' name...usually my dispatchers name.
He asked 1 time why his name kept showing up on bills of lading ..i just told him he was a representative of the company same as i was.
And since i didnt have any way of knowing what was on the back of that trailer and it was already sealed..his name could be on the bills since he booked the load. -
any of you picked up a load at millard's c/s lately? ...if you did, you'd know what i'm talking about and would have been bs-ing here way less.

Yes, many loads. Just sign and leave. After waiting 2+ hours(paid) for paperwork everytime, I could careless.
