Congrats on the truck, Steve.......Congrats on the ac, Flood......Congrats on the kissing, Craig...LOL

We are sitting in Olive Branch, first day we actually ran our whole 14....Sean was less than 2hrs away from her 75 so we couldn't run Super Solo today........Right now we are waiting for the trailer that is going to head us toward home to get the clearance light fixed......then tomorrow we head for Edwardsville, IL to deliver Monday morning at 0800 and then it's about 3 hours to home!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh, you about to discover the wonderful world of having two logs books available. Just imagine never getting stuck 2 hours from home and out of drive time. For the next 11 to 14 days, you can just change drivers!

    Hi everyone!!
Started school last Wednesday and it is going great!! Seeing the problems that the other students are already having makes me glad that I have driven in the past. I remember struggling at times back in 1988 when I was in Truck Driving School for the first time. I just hope that my knowledge helps some of my fellow students. I have already had several come to me with questions and I was able to help them which makes me feel really good. I know that there is a lot that has changed in 20 years, primarily Government Rules and Regulations, along with HOS.

BTW, I just read in the Sunday paper and I quote "The Federal Government is researching whether to require 18-wheelers to have electronic recording devices similar to airplanes black boxes" and "The Government also is developing new hours-of-service rules for truckers, who now are allowed to work up to 14 hours straight, including 11 consecutive hours of driving before they are required to pull over and rest."

I guess it's a constantly changing world out there with the Government. I miss the ICC and the PSC. Those were the governing authorities back when I drove in the early 90's.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday out there....You all be safe out there and hopefully I'll get to meet some of you when I finally get out of school in August and head to Tunnel Hill. I got a call from Mark, one of the student recruiters last week and they have already pulled my DAC and whatever else they needed to do to process me for Pre-hire. He said all looks good and for me to call him 2 weeks before I graduate and get my CDL. I'm pretty excited!!

I guess I have one advantage, 2 of my instructors are certified CDL testers, so I will have all of the tests for my CDL administered there at school and then take the packet they give me over to the DMV to get my License. All is good!!! :newb:
