I log what I drive.
Only real consideration I have is that my company only allows us to log 65mph, so if I run a lot of miles I will often do the math to make sure it meets their standards. Only times this has ever been a problem is when I get to run wide open roads all day, with a few 8 minute stops thrown in.
I can usually make 550 a day running east coast, mostly because I do a lot of miles at night when there is no traffic and being able to get in and out of my stops quickly. I think my record is around 670 miles in one day.

Most I ever did was around 750. Didn't realize I'd gone that far, as we're only allowed to average 65 mph. I was running across WY and NE mostly and shut down close to my 11 hours. Had to "adjust" my miles, so the lady in the office didn't get all upset. lol
I regularly run 600+, depending on where I'm headed. All depends on the load destination, of course. -
when my friends father was a truck driver he drove 10,000km in a week once, which is like 900miles a day (or so he claims)

>>>>How many miles do you log a day
As many as I can drive legally...I try not to stop with less than 600 on the clock if possible...Anything less, if they're available, makes me feel like I wasted a day...

What's with all this averaging crap? Log what you drove. If you don't stop at every other truckstop/rest area you'll be fine. Just last week I drove from Silver Creek UT to Grand Island NE. Didn't stop once. 770mi in 10.5hrs. I cannot be ticketed for this because they cannot disprove it. I am a master at controlling my bladder.

The only reason I posted this because I was looking at the hours regulation in the FMCSA web site and in the Schedules to Conform to Speed Limit §392.6 the interpretations explains when they get suspicious. Even thou you'll need to add an hour I would have all my paperwork in line to back up high miles. If the speed limit is 65mph, and we all know you're not going to average 65mph without going over the speed limit anything over 660 miles and you could be ticketed.
lostNfound and BigJohn54 Thank this. -
The best I've been able to average in the real world in 11 hours without going over the speed limit is 72 in a 75 zone across Wyoming, Utah and Nevada at night when the traffic was minimal...That's as close as I've ever come to averaging the speed limit.
