Wish I had found this thread sooner.
I hate to admit, wish I hadn't quit working for Swift to drive for these guys. But is there a company out there that will keep the promises they make?
I got my idle time down like they asked. In return, they promised to turn my truck up to 65 MPH (from 62) instead, they turned it down to 60. I asked for my truck to be turned up or start paying me by the hour.
Home every 8 - 10 days? Right. Home once every 3 to 5 weeks.
Wrote up DOT repairs and they ignored them. They had my truck in the shop for 5 days and I was told to have the PM done on the road. Then got pissy with me because it cost $250.00...
Sent me to the midwest when I had asked for Fathers Day weekend off (2 weeks ago). I was supposed to be home Thursday night, just got home TODAY.
The NAVAJO dispatchers are so much better. Denver had me a relay that would have had me home on time. Instead, my dispatcher sent me to MISSOURI knowing I would be out of hours before I got home.
Soon as I have another job to go to, I'm done with them. They will treat you like royalty the first 90 days. After that, LOOK OUT!!!

Just be prepared that when you quit they will probably send you a letter stating that you owe them money. There are alot of good small companies here in Idaho you might try. Go to the report a good trucking company threads and maybe you'll find something there. Good Luck... Sorry for what you have gone thru. Been there, done that.

It's call Discuss a favorite trucking company... I have a thread there. You should read it. Thanks.. Stay safe

Oh! And don't forget, this is driver appreciation week up there at their terminal! My dispatcher had me shagging loads while they were cooking lunch...
Talked to them about the over spray that appeared on my Pick-up while parked there the last 3 weeks: Oh no, that couldn't have come from our shop! We don't do large body work and the only painting is done with rattle cans. It must have been a driver..." Really?! A DRIVER painting in the employee parking lot? Yeah, it's gonna be $500.00 to buff out the paint... -
yea sorry that must have been me that over sprayed your car... ohh never mind I havent worked there since last year.... (given half the chance Im sure they would try that one) Im sorry to hear that your vehicle was damaged but it just goes to show how management is at cargo, about taking responsibility for their damages... Maximize profit to thier pockets and minimize the cost going out... even though they would have spent about 300.00 fixing your vehicle (the same amount they pay some of the lumpers they use) I say you need to file an insurance claim and let your ins. company go after their ins. company... ohh thats right.... Cargo express doesn't have an insurance company ( AS PER NAVAJO ... Cargo Express Doesn't have an insurance carrier they cover everything in house... hence the truck load of bakery goods they spent 5 months trying to sell off that a shipper refused, and the use and rebuild of frame damaged trucks... Thanks for that info there head shop foreman Kelly)
I stand corrected that my former dispatcher "Steve Ball" is in fact still at Cargo... I'll admit I was misinformed...
If I would have found the truckers report on this company I wouldn't have gone to them.
From what I have heard, from current drivers with them, this company is a sham even more then it was last time.... Ill have to get one of them on here sometime and let them give their side as I'm not going to relay it as i might misconstrued something.
But, in this economy (Thanks Obama) everyone is'nt getting jobs where they want to work its where they can work... its just a temp thing until they can get a better job.Cargo is no means a long term job... its a starter company because any driver with any time under their belt will see how BS the company is both in pay and its operations then they wouldn't even waste their time applying with these guys.
I feel for all the rookie drivers that they are taking advantage of... (even though ill admit they got me also)they dont know any better and are being azzz fraked.... but, oh well.... as I explained before I am more than willing to answer ANY questions about the positive and negative aspects of this company.
rnmouse1 Thanks this. -
