I got it now... the filter is not staying checked.
The next set of Maps will have to be bought. Around $100 I think, but do not quote me. As of now, no release date from QA.
The map update will be send via SD Card.
thanks,
Mark

Ouch, lets hope thats not the case. If so I definitely don't see myself continuing as a RM customer considering the much better fit and finish of much cheaper products out there.
Guess thats one way of sending your customers to the competition. -
That will not make me a very happy customer either. I bought my t5c the last part of January 2011 and with in 2 months it was telling me the map data was over a year old. I asked about this earlier, see post#6 in the TND710 vs 700 forum.

All Navigation companies charge for Map updates. This is a Main core Map update from NavTeq.
Thanks,

I understand that all companies charge for map updates. My issue is within 2 months of purchasing this unit it is telling me the map data is over a year old.
I purchased a Navigon gps a while back and the first map update was at no charge. When one pays full price one should expect to get a product with current data.

If you connect to the TND Dock, Make sure you have Dock 2.0.8 and then on the Top row, Show IntelliRoute TND Info. On the bottom of the next screen is the Show Map Data Version.
let me have that info.
Thanks,

Wow and i'm sure that'd be a tax deductible item as well

Agree with ya there, expensive item to start with, I can't understand how they can charge so much for the unit to start with then expect $100 every time a map update comes out.

Speaking of updates.....
The new dēzl™ 560LMT from Garmin comes with Free Lifetime Map and Traffic Updates
while the new dēzl™ 560LT comes with just Free Lifetime Traffic Updates....
however both of these units are pricey.. $529 and $469 respectively.
And I think the updates of course are the 'lifetime' of the unit, which is anyone's guess.

$100 is too much to pay for a TND map update. Let's hope thats wrong.
On my T5 unit, that would be more than 25% of what I paid for the thing itself ($379)....
