Most all that has given way to Satellites and modern logistic operation
The need to convoy in such a manner is no longer required.

I know the trucks you're talking about and they don't run Marmons anymore. They come out of Amarillo with their headquarters in Alb. NM. and I used to load and unload them. They run three drivers in a truck and they run 8 hour shifts. They are not required to stop at any scales but they do for common courtesy. There was one story they told us,among many, that they we're traveling down the road and a state trooper came up to them with his lights on to pull them over. They called their HQ which called the Governor of that state which called the state troopers and he backed off. All in a matter of minutes.

The job the OP is more likely to be talking about could be weapon parts, money, gold,or just about any real senstive stuff. I don't think the trucks are U.S. Government truck likes the ones above are.

Could be currency of any kind, weapons or any other high class gov freight. Theres alot more of it out on the roads than you think but thats the idea keep it low key. I would guess with it needing a carry permit it is weapons or money and most likely something to do with the gov.

Usually the Ghost Trains go with one truck but they still have other units you don't know about. Only time they will go with more is if there's a large shipment needed like say a Trident sub. Or a new system coming out. Always look for the U.S. Government plate and look behind them and you'll see a surprise.
