Check out Central Refrigerated also. I'm currently training with them and in the class I am in they had two drivers that are about the same as in your sittuation. You will have to do some training but with these two guys once they verified there work history and driving they moved them straight to orientation class and they will be out driving with a trainer in under a weeks time. You will make around $450 a week while out with trainer and that normaly last for 5 weeks don't know if it will be shorter time for them or not. Don't know if they start your mileage pay out higher either, new drivers get .28 a mile solo and .34 a mile team.

My best advice to you is to try a training company that has its own school. You can probably test out of the school and go straight to a training truck. My preference in this would be Schneider.

Crete Carrier has an EXCELLENT training program, won't run you like a team, and will pay you $500/wk for the eight weeks that you will be with a trainer (you will have the option to go home for a week 1/2 way through training). Benefits and equipment are good. After training you start out at about .36 per mile, and increase to .41 after 1 year.
There is also a terminal located in Columbus, OH. (I think they have dedicated and regional as well as OTR out of that terminal)

I started with Crete, myself and highly recommend them for new OTR training.
    Good luck!

As you know, I read thru your Blog from Day one with Watkins Shepard. You seem to be doing very well with them and you seem to be happy too. I wold not mind working for them either, but not sure I would really want to do the furniture runs that you do with 20 plus stops. Not that I am lazy, just that I am older is all.

You should be out to Cali now, and I hope that you have a safe trip back too. Post some of those photos, and maybe a new video too??
