The direction most litigation now days is going it's ultimately the drivers responsibility, wether the company be too cheap or not. We professionals are the ultimate scape goat for any and everything that no one wants the blame for. In order to keep them from biting you where it counts, it's important to stay ahead of them as much as possible and not give them the opportunity. It's sad that drivers must resort to this behavior to insure employment, but then again it's ultimately our fault for the votes we did or did not cast.

Im not trying to start a political discussion, merely stating that company's get away with treating drivers like this due to the elected officials that are supposed to be looking out for us in DC. Just tryin to help out a fellow driver. Got my hands on the book no one else could last night and tried to give some advice. Didn't mean to step on toes. I'm fairly new to this group. And as far as ur quote about speaking English goes, check out what uncle Sam is doing with NAFTA. That should blow yer dress up!

As I said before, political forum is down the list, sir. And since we speak English, I guess we're both in the clear on that one.

sir you are trying to start a political discussion..

the company has rules as YOU posted earler and he broke them, sorry he lost his job but he has no one to blame but himself for leaving a LOADED trailer at a truckstop for hometime.

In a perfect world we would all live close to a secure lot to park in while we are on home time. US Xpress/Arnold gets us home every weekend. In doing this they have you pick up a load and they run you through the house and deliver after home time. Do you really think that all the northeast drivers park at secure lots or terminals? They knew the only place I had to park was at a Flying J. As for the high value load procedures goes... this was not a high value load. But anyway, the next time you are running loaded and you run into a place to get a bite to eat, just hope your truck is still there when you get back. If it's not???? Well maybe you should have had it in a secure lot!

Do you drive for Arnold? Where is this policy about leaving the truck running when you have a beer load or other liquid that the BOL states "protect from freezing"? Do you live in the NE? If the temp gets below *20 it isn't going to start if you don't run it. So I should have parked where when they run me through the house? 3 hours away? I think not. Why would they send me home loaded when they knew I didn't have a secure lot to put it in??? Rules look good on paper and are wonderful to cover their butt if something like this happens but in the real world there isn't a secure gated patroled lot near every driver's home town.

As far as parking at the local flyin pilot, if the dispatcher knew you were parking it there and all of that banter was done over the qualcomm, then the mess should have fell in his lap not yours. I try to do most of that stuff over the onboard computer cause it's ALL DOCUMENTED!! If they call me and ask me to do something shady I always make them send it over the qualcom 'cause I'm a dumb forgetful truck driver' and to cover my a#%! And I do understand about havin no place to park the truck in a secure lot. I live 2.5 hrs from my terminal and usually have the wife come pick me up so that maintenance and pm's can be done on my off time. It sucks but it works out. And when I do bring the rig home I park it at a local buddies shop with a 6' razor wire fence. Most places will let u if ur a regular customer or you just ask for free. But there are some jacka#%es out there that charge just because they can. And as far as being a noobie...yeah I've been driving 'legal' for a year. Got my cdl's in may of 2010. But I've had my share of seat time. Just got tired of running 2-3 books, dodging scale houses, and not getting any sleep. I quit being stupid before it caught up with me.
