They are waiting for me to FAX a background check authorization. Just wondering....they seem to be in a hurry or something.

Not hard to get on, if you meet the requirements. Gotta have decent MVR and stuff, 1 yr's experience. They might not call you if they don't happen to have any open trucks at the moment though. Sometimes the VA yard won't have an open truck, but they'll have one in Sheldon, IA or Great Bend, KS. Kind of a hassle to get you to where there's a truck. But for orientation you gotta go to Sheldon, IA. Sometimes they'll hire a guy in VA and actually put him in a truck (if there's one in VA) and load you there to finish orientation. Not sure how that works.
Recruiting number is 800-245-8775 ext 108 Tim or Jeanne.
Gotta call between 7AM and 5PM central time. -
Thanks for the info.

Oh yeah I finally got out of Kenworth in Idaho Falls about 1500 on Friday afternoon. I called them about 1100 to see if it was done yet & it was so I packed up my gear and headed downstairs to wait for my ride to the shop. I sat there for about two hours in the lobby waiting around so I finally called them to see what the deal was only to be told the parts runner forgot to come and get me! The Service Manager ended up coming to pick me up within 10 minutes and I was on the road. I kinda took a shortcut through West Yellowstone and had the chance to see quite a bit of wildlife that is out of the norm for our area, even saw some snow! Ok, now I can put a name with the face MINIVANS. Honestly I really haven't noticed much of a change around this place, but I don't really go through the yards that much to even notice. As far as the home time goes I'm on a different schedule than a majority of the fleet. I am usually gone a minimum of 3 weeks then I go home for 2-3 days then back at it. There's been times that I needed to be home for something and was late but that's just trucking, all part of the gig. I can see how Mike can be tense and cranky when he is the point man for our largest & most nit picky customer. Ask Forrest Gump says......"that's all I gotta say about that" Happy trails

Well I was a skeptic before, but after pulling trailer #1102 w/skirting, I'm sold. My fuel mileage went up to 6.9 in the Pete, compared to 6.5(normal) running up I-81/I78 until I reached those hills around Allentown.

yes they do wonders, i was surprised and shocked too!!! your pete must be spec'd out better than the others... i've heard no one getting better than a 6.1 in those things!! hell i could only average 5.9.....as much as i love my KW i miss my pete, they had truck 674, which i assume is the last pete beside the two 70 inch sleeper pete's we have, down in great bend which was an open truck and man did it look good!!! if they couldn't get my smoke problem fixed i #### sure wouldn't have mind getting that truck..

Hey have you two pulled those things empty in a crosswind yet?
There's about a 50/50 division between guys who say they're terrible and those who say they actually help.
I only pulled one once, and it was loaded and there wasn't any wind that day. -
i pulled a 10K load with it in the wind and rain.... wasn't that bad..... i hear in the snow and ice it gives you an hard time but i guess we got a few of months before we can test that out and im #### sure not in a rush to see it

I'm averaging 6.5mpg in 656 (Pete, 435k on it). Haven't had the pleasure of a lady trailer yet. (Wearing a skirt...get it? eh? EH??)
I_HATE_MINIVANS Thanks this. -
Saienga,
Funny that on the shirts, could have used a more PC term, like fairings, I certainly don't want to offend anyone or have them accuse me of being sexist!
Minivans,
nope, haven't pulled an empty skirted trailer yet, I'm sure it's different, as is an empty trailer itself. But with that being said anything that improves mileage is a plus, and besides, things are changing all the time.
Hawk,
my Pete 672, is one of the newer ones and maybe it is geared different, at 380205 she's good to go.
Be safe
