General consensus amongst most is that Verizon has the best coverage nationwide.

Also, just an FYI - US Cellular's nationwide plans use Verizon's towers when you're outside their normal coverage areas.

 

You're best going with Verizon, just from a coverage point of view. Don't get fooled by the little companies with "free minutes," claims of very fast service (Sprint) and AT&Ts claims of coverage... its marketing nonsense.

You need serious coast-to-coast network coverage for that time when you're brokend down in the middle of BFE nowhere.

 

I'll third the Verizon suggestion. I almost always have service no matter where I am

 

#4 for Verizon here. I've had trainees on AT&T and Sprint switch to Verizon by the end of their training because my coverage was so much better.

 

I think the consensus is for Verizon. I was with Sprint when I first started driving, and got tired of areas of no coverage. VERY few spots in the country where Verizon has no signal. Found one the other day in SE Colorado near Campo-Springfield... while waiting for a callback from the accountant of course! lol. But we are very pleased.

 

I handed my phone to my trainer more than once (he had AT&T).

I use US Cellular... coverage is the same as Verizon since they leetch off 'em for nationwide coverage.

 

I have Verizon. I also tether my droid to my laptop and use pdanet for internet. It uses my data and the program was 40 bucks I believe. As for a newer droid I like the LG Revolution.
