I am so excited I got a training date of july 26. I get on the DOG at 7:30 am and arrive 1PM next day. I know many don't like the DOG but after seeing I will drive through my old college town and through St. Louis I am excited. Plus I am a glutton for punishment
I will spill more about me in future posts. But as a brief introduction I am married almost 20 years with two great teenagers. In 2008 I lost my career which had allowed my wife to stay home with our kids for the previous 9 years. I took a "get me through" job that paid half of what I was making as long as I worked 65 to 70 hours a week (the hours were available) My wife bless her went back to work to make up some of the difference.
Well the hours aren't there and the county we live in is heavily unemployed. Three years ago I considered Trucking but there were factors (comportment) that no longer exist. I have wanted to do this much of my life but the timing never seemed right, so after a lot of thought prayer and consideration I am going after it.
My expectation is simple. To earn a living by working hard. It is what I have always done. My dad always said "don't have candy ##### hands when you have a family".
I look forward to reading all of your posts as they have helped me the past months I have been lurking here.

Congratulations!!! I just finished going through the PSD program last week, as I've stated in every post since lol ( what can I say, I'm excited to finally have my CDL) If you have any questions let me know, ill do my best to answer. It is a funny feeling now, driving down the road, lookin to the right seat... n no one is there lol. But, I was trained well n know how to drive the truck. Now, as my trainer says, I'm learning how to be a truck driver, not a student

Today was another great day. I mentioned to my wife that I needed to get a copy of my birth cert from vial statistics. She thought we had a copy I was certain we did not as I haven't had one since I was a kid. My folks had lost mine but since I went to Catholic School my baptism cert worked like a birth cert. any how we go to our fire safe and sure enough I had to get one years ago when I got my passport so I have that.
The letter Tammy (my recruiter) sent me says I need to be eligeble for a passport. Mine is expired but there are no issues that would prevent me from having it renewed but it will take 6 to 10 weeks. Will this pose any issues? -
I dont have a passport.... but will get one soon as I can. As long as you have the ability to get a passport, you should be fine. My trainer doesnt even have a passport.
