Hey. I am just about to start my career as a CMV operator and I like to get in a good game of pool. Are there any truck stops that have pool tables that anyone knows of? Would be an ideal place to use my stop during my 10 hr break when I can work that out.
Pool tables?

Your larger Petro's have pool tables (Bordentown, NJ and North Baltimore, OH, immediately comes to mind). Also the Pilot in Duncan, SC. I'm sure some other drivers can fill you in on some other locations, but those are the three I know off the top of my head.iamgillespie Thanks this.

That settles it. The pool stick is coming along for the ride!

You won't find many truck driver/pool players. Their belly's keep em at least two foot from the table, lol.
When I was your age I use to play all the time in leagues and tournaments with my brother. You might find a good game at a bar next to a truck stop.iamgillespie Thanks this. -
The Travel Centers of America T/S in Jessup, Maryland (Baltimore South) [Interstate 95, Exit 41 A] did at one time have a pool table, it was in the second game room on the same level as the travel store -- across from the Country Pride Restuarant.
However, as of yesterday, (26 June 2011) there were some seats and a flat screen TV in that room.
Call them and ask if they still have a pool table somewhere in the facility and if so, where did they move it to ...

Mine is already along for the ride. just in case.....

I've seen pool tables at a few TAs and Petros and I've even seen a few drivers actually playing pool. Bring quarters or hit up the change machine in the game room!

Love the AC-30! I don't know if there was ever a better sounding amp ever made. I've worked as a speaker reconer so I know those old Vox Speakers were also a perfect match. There was a time in southern California that you could buy these all day long for $75 at any pawn shop.....If I only had a time machine!
The guitar is a Dobro made I think by a company called Recording King. It is one of those resonator guitars. These are were the term "Steel Guitar" originated. National was once the hallmark of the Dobro guitar with the big steel resonator cover on the front. Some use to call them "Tennessee Hubcap Guitars" because they had what looks like a hubcap on the front.
I have an old National from the '30's and it looks like it went through a war! But that is how I got the handle Hubcap.
I guess you just don't get to choose your handle, it will never stick until someone else gives you one. -
Im guessing it was all the bands that wanted the Beatles sound flooded the market. One of my favorite combinations is a tele into an ac30 or 15.
I wanted to actually learn steel some day. I love sound of a good steel guitar. Particularly on Hank Sr. albums. -
I always keep my darts in my truck...not much of a pool player myself but I can throw some Cricket with the best!!!
