Whoops, you're right. Thought it said $500/wk for the first year. Trying to read too much too quick. The Old Man, when I'm corrected I learn permanently. If I just posted what I knew, I'd never learn anything. Please ignore me if nothing I've said makes any cents. If I had time for a hobby or a life, I would have it made.

I am suspicious of everything with conclusive empirical evidence, willing to share anything to perceived posters learning too, and being human, make errors, mistakes, and typos. But I'm not playing psychological games, scam motives, and not attacking anyone either :biggrin_25514: Please forgive me!

No deposits, but you have to buy the cab filters and pay for any damage to the interior or if hair gets by the filters. Large dogs may not be accepted.

Been reading an abundant amount on the trucking industry. The one thing I've read so far that seems to validate the (or make some kind of sense) company/driver relation problems a great deal, is the fact that some of these companies are public and have stock holders to answer to, their interest are profit margins while you have the pressure of a billion investors money.

Anyways, what are some other reputable companies that remain private other than Crete, and Roehl?

Also if anyone has insights on the flatbed aspect of Crete, I'd love to hear them, I read about the one fellow that did it and raved about it. What about some specifics on pay rate and other things of the like...

Most all the problems are with a half dozen carriers it seems. The same names keep popping up, so don't think its an industry wide problem. But it certainly keeps you alert, huh? All it would take would be one person willing to get an Employment Lawyer to shut the first cheesey truck company down for DAC smearing someone's career. That's a serious liability and Employment law can shut a company down for good. :biggrin_2551:

Read one of my posts I put on other threads this afternoon - the WalMart fleet may be gone by the end of September, but they consider it forced dispatch - if they tell you to go to Sterling, Illinois and live there for 5 days at $150 day, you cannot refuse.
I'm a 10 year driver with the Acklie companies, 4 years with Crete, the last year on the national fleet. Last week they tried to hijack me to Sterling and I told them to send me home, I'll quit first. My manager is spineless and did nothing to support me (10 years no tickets, no accidents, no problems). I quit yesterday.

Why in the world would anyone gripe about sitting around for 5 days for 750 dollars? Am I missing something?

When they asked me to go, they asked me if I would go, since I agreed, the forced dispatch never came into play. I know this, I would never go again and have my paperwork I signed when hired that said I was on the National Fleet, not Walmart dedicated, it would be interesting.
