Mr G, Does a driver with limited OTR experience, although I have been driving for several years locally, have to go thru the training or can I take a Road test and get going? Have had my Class A CDL for 20 years.
Just a few answers about Millis

Monroefiredog1....I believe that would depend on..."how local"...I would really have to recommend giving recruiting a call ( 1-800-937-0880) and talk with them. Talk to Craig, Fay, or really anyone in our personnel dept. and they can help you better with that question. I would say that if you've run in multiple states ( Al. Ga. Fla. ) something like that, then I personally don't see a problem, however if it's just around town then that may be questionable. I think they figure that around town doesn't get you ready for OTR.
Sorry I couldn't be more help. They would be better qualified to answer THAT question. -
Hey MrG, do you know if Millis accepts GI Bill for course funding. Thanks!

Man you guys are killin' me!!!!!! LOL
I'm sorry to say that that would be another one of those questions for recruiting.... 1-800-937-0880.
Good questions however. These are things I need to check on so I'll know in the future!! -
I was just looking at the calendar and wondering what happens with training in richfield in Novemberseeing as how thanksgiving is in the third week of training. How does that work?

I'm sure this has been asked a million times before but I can't seem to understand this "per diem" thing works in whole....the company site says starting practical with per diem is .28 which is .05 less then non per diem. So is it that you receive .28 as base that is taxed and then an additional amount that is then not taxed and if so what is that amount?.....please help me understand this better
-
the amount not taxed works out to be about the same as what the daily allowance is. For sake of reposting - check out my blog - it's detailed in there.
