i know someone can answer this for me

I live in WA and had a WA permit but went to school in OR.
heavyd540 Thanks this. -
I'm not sure, but my gut says yes. Trucking is an Interstate industry. You should be able to train OTR. Just my thoughts with nothing to back them up.

I believe so I will have a VT permit but will go to school in MO. but i believe you still need to be over 21. but i see that you are
heavyd540 Thanks this. -
Yes you can as long as you have a licensed CDL holder in the jump seat running a legal log book. Plus you gotta be 21 minimum.

The CDL Driver must be in a position to "tale control" if necessary...which means they are running shotgun, logged as On Duty (not Sleeper Berth), and logged the Pre Trip Inspection (since you have not passed that test yet). I have run one trip and about to run another with a permit driver in training, we both have 11 hours of driving available each day, but are working on the same 14 hour window since I need to be "on duty" when he is driving. Both of ya need legal log book.

Yes as long as you have a driver with you over the age of (25 i believe) with a valid CDL license than can take over if needed If you are under 21 you are not allowed to drive any commercial or vehicle requiring a DOT medical card out of your own state.
heavyd540 and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
IMSAkid got it right. You have to be 21 to cross stateline. I use to to cross back and forth from Cali to Az when I was only 18 and 19 year's old, but I never got question. I had found out bout this rule/law afterwards.
BigJohn54 Thanks this.
