at 75 he says he is ideling at 12-1500 rpm that is where it was set for optimum milage. running slower actually bogs down the engine useing more fuel. his words not mine ?

I understand the theory , and not wanting to argue but no matter the way you cut it at 75mph there is way to much wind resistance to get that sort of mileage.IMO.

just a thought if you burn a gallon of fuel an hour stoped at idle, then maybe he does get that . of course get into city traffic it probably drops down to 4mpg highway could be close to that 12 factor mentioned earlier. so maybe possible if you are on a good stretch but probly more like seven or 8 under normal conditions just a thought.

10 mpg - less 30L/100 km is reality on a goo hightway w/o hills with constant crusing speed, slow, about 85-90 kmh, w/o wind, ore wind in your direction....

Explain 6x2 and what does TPM stand for????

The driver is a larger part of fuel mileage improvement along with truck speed and I would like to focus on the mechanical/aerodynamic side in this thread.

Not sure what an automated gearbox is unless you are talking an automatic transmission?

    Keep the ideas coming.

    6x2 have less mechanical loses

TPM is tire pressure monitoring so you always have indicated tire pressure and its warning you if it is not correct

    not automatic, but AMT

but how far would you like to go

i am afraid that some of things you might have can more cost than make fuel benefit

investing in yourself can be more cost-effective than in some exotic things on truck , ECO driving school is pretty cheap comparing to some things you have .....
