Your company needs a certain return on investment. When they dont get it drivers dont get raises.

You don't care about your mileage but are still getting 6-7.2???? Guess thats why you don't care. I spend every minute thinking about my fuel economy and driving in a manner that might increase it.... And all I get is 5.1 mpg.

My opinion, you shouldnt care bout fuel mileage till your company gives your reason to care, like a fuel incentive bonus type deal.

And we have the winning answer!
I am willing to bet your the same guy that takes off from every stop mashing the right pedal going through every gear, like a supertrucker... -
We get fuel bonus for reaching fuel goals..Its a game I like to play..Shouldnt be to hard to get 6.5 out of a rig but if your mpg is to low I heard some companys just wont give you the miles..This maybe rumor but Ive heard that..As for me I just like getting high mpg its somthing else to keep me accupied.Personal record right now is 9.7..but this was a super light load with a brand new trailer sails and all..My avg is 7.4..JoeyJunk Thanks this.

I do care about mileage. Not cause the company gives incentives, just cause its a personal challenge. I will not waste anything, regardless who is paying for it.

mine has never said a word, other than fuel up with only what the truck needs to get it back to the yard for a cheaper fuel. the best mileage our trucks get is 5.5 at most. the trucks are 04-07 Volvos and Feightliner Centuries, clipped at 78mph.
some of the west coast trucks will run a tick over 80, but for the most part we are all at 78. its nice to be able to run the legal speed limit. i pass so many 62mph trucks its crazy. i fail to understand where those companies justify a fuel savings over the entire vehicle being a road hazard.
we all know what Arizona told Swift.......and for those who do not know, i heard it was speed the trucks back up that run out there or Arizona was going to pull Swift's operating authority. -
What is a road hazard is when a guy in an 80mph truck doesn't know where and where not to use it.
