I had a friend who drove for them. The good is you get miles....the bad is home time. I hear getting home can be a problem.

They do have nice equipment, however it's all painted black. Not nice in the summertime...

I will be leaving for orientation for Smith tomorrow so I hope they will be the right choice for me. Supposed to get home every weekend. It looks like they have some nice equipment, I asked the recruiter if I would be driving a Pete and she told me there was a 50 50 chance since they have a bunch of freightliners also.:biggrin_2552: There trucks are governed at 65 so that kind of sucks, but she told me that there was a chance to get it increased to 70 within 6 months. I would appreciate more info on this company if anyone here has driven for them.

My husband drives for them and a friend of mine. Hometime is different for both - hubby is home everyother weekend, sometimes gets home every weekend. His dispatch asks him what he wants and they do whatever he requests. My friend on the other hand doesn't want to be home and stays out about 2-3 weeks, home 34 hrs, and usually under a load leaving for both of them. Seeing what they both are going through, it seems like if you want to be out, your out, if you want to be home, your home. The money you makes, depends on you. One gets dispatched from Indiana, the other from Atlanta - Atlanta seems better. The trucks are kept up, if you have a problem they will route you to a terminal and fix it. 50/50 chance of getting a Pete, no, you'll end up with a Freightliner. Some of them have generators, some don't. Fuel - they will tell you where to fuel and when. Payday for direct deposit is on Thursdays, and the card is done on Friday (late Thursday nite usually). That's all I can think of right now - anymore questions - just ask - if I don't know - I'll call one of them and ask for you. Good Luck, enjoy the Roaring Springs terminal office - I hear it's amazing!!.............................Lori

This company is also at the top of my list!

Now, about your husband and his friend:

How many miles per week (on average) does you husband get?

How much does the friend get?

    Where is smith's running area?
