So, what part of the application ware you less than truthful on?
-Steven -
Dont make since why did they send you home could it have been that you lied on the application
-
No what alot of these big companies do is run a basic check on the applicants before they get there cause of the costs of so many guys not being serious than once you are in orientation they go a little more in depth on the background check . I know it sounds backwards but can you imagine the costs to check out every driver that calls up or fills out an application.

I have looked at moving to USX for a long time and for the most part, they seem to be AOK... I would love to know what the problem was specifically for the OP...???

I would like to see OOIDA go after companies that do this. Guy quits his current job, spends money preparing for a new job and then gets sent home after the fact. There are likely damages to be had.

Damages? For lying on your app, misleading your company?
Most companies do a basic check, as mentioned above, but don't put in all the longer and more tedious work until your butt is filling a seat in orientation. With a 25% show-up rate vs scheduled, why would they do 3-4 times the work... when either (a) you might not show up for a few weeks because of your commitments, or (b) you might not show up at all?
Regardless, it's funny as all hell to see someone mention "damages" when it was his lying on his application, or failing to disclose, or omission that got him booted.
Heck, the company should sue HIM for the bus ticket and hotel room they're out.123456, Everett and drvrtech77 Thank this. -

When a recruiter says they've checked you out, they mean your MVR and stuff.... until they get your signatures on forms, they can't run all the checks with other carriers you've worked for...
Not defending the carrier, it's just that I've seen this too many times, and a person being a living, breathing and qualified driver isn't a reason to cut them loose - something obviously came up. -
Ask yourself... why would a carrier send you home after agreeing to hire you and bring you in for orientation? The reasons are few... failed physical, failed pee test, lied on app, bad issues on background check...
