Excuse me for butting in here. I'm going to A school in September and your positive comments about working with US X are helping to qualify my decision making. The Company is #1 on my list so far. Thanks and stay safe.

T-RIX Ron and I have been researching too. So far, USXpress has the best reputation. Especially with the new CSA 2010 rules. It appears that they are taking the new laws seriously. That is one of the things that appealed to me. "Rhonda"
NoCoCraig: We truly appreciate both your posts and Anne's posts! It has been wonderful for my husband and I in making difficult decisions as we do our research. We thank you. And yes, this forum has an abundance of information that is encouraging and helpful for a newbie.

team's are paided for all "dispatched" miles the same bobtail, mt or loaded.

solo's are paid on a sliding pay scale (pay scale is on the web site) for ALL "dispatch" miles bobtail + mt + load = total load

the only miles you will not be paid for is going home mt or going to get your 1st load when you leave home. you get paid for one but not both. most of the time but sometime you will get paid for both. and most of the time you will not get paid for going on a trailer hunt in the same town.

ALWAYS ask for routing if they mt move you because if they don't mt move you in the computer (and sometimes they forget to) you don't get paid for it, ez fixed with a call, but who wants to wait a extra week to get paid for it

Yes, they limit Florida hiring to teams in the slow times but I have met a couple of solo's recently hired out of FL

You guys sure you are truck drivers? I'm starting to think this is some sort of elaborate ruse. You have way too much fun, hanging out at Tiki bars, a club, watching the shuttle launch, and hanging out on Vero Beach. Cmon, just come clean. What is it you two REALLY do?

we had an fm that every time he wanted to get something specal for his wife would sent us for a 34 (if we needed it or not) to someplace like vegas about a month before he needed it.:biggrin_2559:

but the up side was we would just call and ask if we could get a load to someplace we wanted to go and he would....

Who would have thunk you could have so much fun driving a truck. Craig keeps saying it is an awesome job that pays you to go on home time anywhere you want. The launch was absolutely amazing and had a great mini vacation. Getting back in the groove isn't as much fun. We were lucky enough to get a run from Miami to Boston but did have to wait till Monday night. We started telling them we were ready Friday evening but it was a weekend and in Florida. We are loving this job. Sometimes more than others but have been really happy with USX.

Keep on posting your adventures! they are encouraging to both of us. We are now going into our fourth week. At this point we have mastered upshifting, downshifting, and have almost mastered the PTI. (Being the only woman in my class) I had to do the entire PTI in front of all the guys. I missed the torsion bar when going over the suspension. Arggg! Monday we start our required 1000 road miles. CAN'T WAIT!!:biggrin_25515:
