The Russians are already here. Ever wonder why FedEx line-haul drivers don't have their CB's on? They only speak Russian.
I have a felony for theft and misdemeanors - can I be a truck driver?

And this doesn't even take into account the fact that we arrange our sentences different (nouns and verbs) than most any other language. -
Do not give up talk with a lawyer about the felony. Call the dac report people hire right and ask if you can have your dac report reviewed.

He has NO dac report.
And won't until he has worked for a dac company !!BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
If you notice I didn't quote you. Your comments were in line with my opinion/comment. I would suggest you go and read some of the other threads on this issue and look at the common comment from several people attacking those with problems in their past. -
Would you care to debate and discuss your background? I'm sure there are things in your background that would make you unhireable in this field. -
good luck -
Okay, I'm kind of stumped right now, could use some advice, whether it be positive or negative. I have a felony Arson charge on my record, still on Deferred adjudicated probation, just have about $1500 more to pay and then I get released early. I have called multiple truck driving companies and they all say no. Weird part is that they are trying to tell me that it is a conviction. I have pulled my own background check for my criminal record, and it shows no conviction, I'm registered to vote and I even have jury duty next month. So far I have talked to Stevens transport and TMC both said no, no response from Werner yet. The charge was from 2 years ago and looking at going to truck driving school in the spring which would make it about 3 years old then. I may even take a few diesel classes at the college while i am waiting. any suggestions?

Take the diesel classes. Get a job working on trucks somewhere. Truck terminal, commercial shop, etc. Decent pay, home every day. It's not that they don't trust you not to torch the truck, it's their insurance companies.
BTW, you mentioned CDL school in the spring. That's what I did. I recommend it to everyone who asks, to do it in the SPRING so you get a whole summer's worth of experience before you have to drive a truck in the snow.jtx87 Thanks this. -
Thanks I am looking into the diesel program at the local Community college right now. I found one company that claims to hire student drivers with felonies as long as they are a year old, but they require Hazmat endorsement. If I did my research right, my time in jail from March to June of 2009 would disqualify me for 5 years. Doesn't make much sense to me. It's called Trimac Transportation out of Houston, Tx, anyone ever heard of them?
