The Russians are already here. Ever wonder why FedEx line-haul drivers don't have their CB's on? They only speak Russian.

And this doesn't even take into account the fact that we arrange our sentences different (nouns and verbs) than most any other language.

Do not give up talk with a lawyer about the felony. Call the dac report people hire right and ask if you can have your dac report reviewed.

If you notice I didn't quote you. Your comments were in line with my opinion/comment. I would suggest you go and read some of the other threads on this issue and look at the common comment from several people attacking those with problems in their past.

As I stated my felony conviction is 20 yrs old, July 2010, my company farmed me out to a US Gov't contractor, to drive a multi-million dollar tractor-trailer from Colorado Springs, Co. to Homestead AFB, Fla.. The broker, the builder of the truck, and the US Gov't were all aware (per disclosure and background check) of my background in the event it would pose a problem. None of the parties involved cared, all they wanted was the truck to be delivered in one piece and on time, oh and I'm doing it again this year. While working for this company, I've hauled dozens of HHG loads for the US Military, I've hauled a dozen loads of freshly minted coins from the US Mint, we regularly haul loads from the US Archives office in Denver, I regularly haul general frieght to/from 6 different US military bases in my area. Guess my company doesn't have a problem, oh, and we're a customs bonded carrier with access to all major US ports and I have a TWIC card. So much for your opinion.

Would you care to debate and discuss your background? I'm sure there are things in your background that would make you unhireable in this field.

Okay, I'm kind of stumped right now, could use some advice, whether it be positive or negative. I have a felony Arson charge on my record, still on Deferred adjudicated probation, just have about $1500 more to pay and then I get released early. I have called multiple truck driving companies and they all say no. Weird part is that they are trying to tell me that it is a conviction. I have pulled my own background check for my criminal record, and it shows no conviction, I'm registered to vote and I even have jury duty next month. So far I have talked to Stevens transport and TMC both said no, no response from Werner yet. The charge was from 2 years ago and looking at going to truck driving school in the spring which would make it about 3 years old then. I may even take a few diesel classes at the college while i am waiting. any suggestions?

Take the diesel classes. Get a job working on trucks somewhere. Truck terminal, commercial shop, etc. Decent pay, home every day. It's not that they don't trust you not to torch the truck, it's their insurance companies.

BTW, you mentioned CDL school in the spring. That's what I did. I recommend it to everyone who asks, to do it in the SPRING so you get a whole summer's worth of experience before you have to drive a truck in the snow.

Thanks I am looking into the diesel program at the local Community college right now. I found one company that claims to hire student drivers with felonies as long as they are a year old, but they require Hazmat endorsement. If I did my research right, my time in jail from March to June of 2009 would disqualify me for 5 years. Doesn't make much sense to me. It's called Trimac Transportation out of Houston, Tx, anyone ever heard of them?
