reading the responses from current drivers here makes me feel better and better about going to drive for Schneider when i get out of school.

I imagine there might be some truth to the OP's post, I have a friend who drives for May and he's complained about this as well, he was saying it was maybe 2 or 3 times per month during his 1st 6 mos. with the company, after that he said it has trailed off to calling him 12 hrs before he reports back from his time off.

Hello all, I drove for SNI up until this past March, for 3 years and I can say this; all DBL's are told NOT to call the driver while they are a)driving and b) on there 10hr break. I never turn my phone off when I sleep and like the rest, I can count on one hand the amount of times I was called by my DBL.
I am thinking about going back to work for SNI, with wife...
Has anything changed in the last 6mo's? I heard that Hair Folicul testing is standard now. Other than that, haven't heard anything else..
God Bless -
I just switched over to runnig nights recently at Schneider on a semi-dedicated (dedicated one way, random crap on the way back). Was told it was "more consistant". Yeah, consistantly less miles LOL. Switching back to days/ 48 states.
Anyways, never had problems getting calls during off time when I was sleeping nights cause they are completely understaffed during 2nd and 3rd shifts anyways. I've been on nights for 3 weeks now and I did get one call from my DBL the first week while I was sleeping (was probably nervous since I was new on his account), but since then he'll just message me on the Qualcom.
Like the other guy messaged, some DBL's are good while others are pretty much worthless. Pretty much luck of the draw I guess. If you're working days and sleeping nights though I wouldn't expect any calls.90125-2 Thanks this. -
Hey, I've been with SNI for 5 months now (just changed professions). I can say that I've only been called like once on my 10hr, but I have gotten a few calls while driving. It seems that most of the time they just message on Qualcom to call them if they need/want to talk.
I use my cell as an alarm clock, so it's on all the time. Thankfully they don't call (except for once or twice)
Also, expect to submit hair and urine, as well as perform a physical (unless you can provide a copy of a recent DOT physical, which they may or may not accept). -
i drive for schneider and the only my time my dbl woul call me on a my 34 was when i didnt send in that mac 43 on the qualcomm during hometime i think your friend is playing the crying game

I have to agree here, I never got a call during my 10, any messages on the Qualcom I would answer after my break. While driving if they sent a message on the qualcom the first word would be either urgent or non-urgent message letting me know if I needed to stop to pick it up.SheepDog Thanks this.

I just have the whole message read by the qualcomm if its important I will pulled over somewhere if not just keep rolling

Yeah, I like the new MPC200, now you can listen to your message while driving...LOL
I just got a card in the mail today from them asking me to come back and they will restore my original hire date and longevity dates-allowing my vacation time to pick up where I left off.... -
My DBL won't call me while I am in the truck. Ever. Even if I say to call, he won't. He will send a message for me to call him IF they need to talk to me, which is rare.
