I'm an owner op for USA Trucking, and I have been here almost a year. My biggest complaint about them is weekend dispatch not answering the phones, not telling me that a load has cancelled, and being rude over the phone when I call them to tell them that there qualcomm system keeps going down.
Others are right though, I get the impression that they generally don't care about us drivers. (Then again, what company does?)
Thinking about coming off the road next year because of truck companies treatment of the drivers.

I was all grins about this company until I got assigned to my own truck. That was Thursday night. Been looking at the maintenance bays at W Memphis since then and afraid I'm going to still be here until Monday morning. My FM said Friday there was no freight in the area and weekend dispatch has said no freight twice today. I hope they aren't mad about my idle time because it's going to be hellacious this week. I hope this is a fluke and not par for the course, I'm afraid though because there's about 20 drivers sitting out here idling waiting for loads.

I was happy until the past couple weeks...Sorta
I was getting decent miles for a while, but sitting every single weekend.
Then the past 2 weeks have sucked and I have had terrible pay checks.
There has not been one weekend in the past 10 I haven't had to sit on a load, except this one. I have been sitting since Wednesday instead and am at the shipper now to get loaded.
All in all, I think I may just be having a bad couple weeks, and hope it gets better. We'll see.
Weekend dispatch is a joke. They all need to be fired. -
Doing the trucking school thing and after reading bunches of post i got to say that right now i have usa truck just ahead of cr england and about 13th on my list-sad, because they were about 4th at one time.

Out of the bad ones, and the other drivers I've talked to, they are still better than the worst ones...Not like that is promising, but if it helps in your decision making.
They know how there system works, and do what they do, so if they want better results and happier people working for them they will make the necessary changes. There are good trucking companies out there, just got to get in the know and find someone to help get the door open for you. I'm here for my year. If things change for the better I will likely stay, but if not, I must look for work that can pay the bills. -
The Maintenance person from the office called me once gooing through the gorge. He wanted a trailer in Indianapolis at a certain time. He asked me when I would be there. I blacklisted his number on my phone. I cant calculate times and numbers going through the Gorge.

They just switched over to a different Qualcom system . It will take a few days for the load coordinators to get the bugs worked out. I was stuck in Tn. for a day waiting to be dispatched. Sitting at home till Monday morning hope they get worked out by then. Weekend and night crew are horrible. I am certain if they make a decision they are connected to electrodes that shock them. I am sure they have not dispatched two loads this weekend. Give them a few weeks in the office to get used to this new system. I am sure they will get it sorted. I like the new system from what I seen so far.

DO NOT GO TO CR ENGLAND!!!!! Look them up here. If after that you still decide to go, you deserve the results. Don't think a good attitude and work ethic will somehow get you different results form the rest of the people they screwed over. Yes, there are some sucessful people at CRE, but don't even let fool you. Every company has some sucessful drivers. You will be shocked when you actually get out into this industry. Its not the pretty picture that they paint in school. Your first year will suck....real bad. Stay with that first company, let them reimburse your school expense, then move on to better companies.

My Brother works for them, he has the same problems, In my opinion your better off staying with-it, than job hoping. When you start to job hop-it will work against you, going to another trucking company. If you stick with it_ and say ya I was with them for a year it will look a lot better.
Just my 2 centstjonzen420 Thanks this.
