3406 3zj42039 injector & turbo upgrade

You don't need to change timing unless you have the digital tool to set it. You can change base timing of the timing advance but to be in spec if I remember corretly you almost need to be hole to hole. I always set them about a 1/4 on the advance side. The other thing you need to check is if the injection pumps have been lapped or the bonnets replaced since it was new. That engine had a terrible problem with internal injection pump leakage if the nozzles got plugged. It would not matter how much fuel you put to it, the leakage internaslly would make them run like a sled.
