depends on the severity of the violation and if I thought I could do it without being caught. If it's something small like an extra 15 mins of drive time, I'm already parked, and my distance traveled doesn't put me over my companies 64mph speed limit I would probably fudge my log to show I got to the truck stop/rest area a little earlier. For all they know I drove around the parking lot at 15mph+ looking for a parking spot for 15 mins =o)

That depends on a lot of variables....
Does your truck have QC? and, does your company use it?
I assume you don't have ELogs..
If you drive over your 11 15mins,,,by all means adjust. An hour? that sucks but I am sure it had to be done, like traffic jam or construction that you didn't know about,,things like that will sometimes cause you to drive over your 11 or go past your 14.
I sometimes try to use my 11 and 14 to there fullest and that caused me to go over my 14 and 70 one time... I was on ELogs too.. It is important, if you are on ELogs, to not finalize your daily activity for a few days. I found this out and it helped me significantly..mtnMoma Thanks this. -
totally hypothetical, but lets assume all ways. Elogs, Qualcomm, tracking vs not tracking. I'm just curious to see what peoples feelings on the matter are. I overheard a conversation where it was stated that it's always better to log a violation than it is to create a false log. I agree with the spirit of that conversation but I'm not sure I agree with the substance of it.

I assume your talking paper logs ?
Cant speak on the electric shock collars cuz I dont wear one.
You control the pen on the paper,as with most things trucking
You always leave your self an out, look as far ahead as possible
and "leave plenty of following distance"

Either way it's a violation. Why make it easier for them to catch it/prove it?blueeyes40 Thanks this.

Right, exactly... log a violation and you're guaranteed to get caught, get whacked, and as in the nature of my last company, have yoru truck turned down from 68-70 mph to 62.

As long as you leave yourself a bit of wiggle room each day, you can take care of minor issues and make 15 minutes 'disappear'. Just gotta know how to work the magic.

In my opinion falsification is worse than the violation itself; falsification+violation > violation.
Now if you're republican then this does not apply. You must falsify because that's what you do everyday. Lying is a hobby to you. It's a way of life for you.
That's right, i said it. Think very deeply about what i said. Maybe it's time you grew up and woke up.rocknsand, Elvenhome21 and roadrunner0152 Thank this. -
Take it to politics. That was really dumb.
Tazz, BigBluePeter, dirtyrabbit and 17 others Thank this.
