Sliding your 5th wheel will do very little for your weight distribution on the back.its all in the tandems in that area Its always a good idea to get weighed if your load is in the high 30000's lbs to see what you have on each axel... I know Werner's policy is weighing is mandatory if your over 44000(i beleave) but I weigh much lower than that.
And if your over GVR... dont even slid anything you wont get it right![]()

Did you just jinks your self with that comment?
What few carriers that I have talked to a truck shows have all said about the same thing is that tickets like this on a drivers record aint that bad unless its a pattern of them.
Log book, speeding, reckless driving, ect. ect. is more what they are looking at. Those will get you fired or not hired faster than any thingAmerican-Trucker Thanks this. -
i havent gotten no other tickets while driving i got a seat belt ticket but thats about it

Well just be more aware of your weights and how the truck rides and all that. And how the trailer is loaded and try to determine if the freight is even from front to back, that can give you a good indication of where your axle's should be. Live and learn.
sevenmph Thanks this. -
How does one get a CDL, and a job, and not understand the most basic of information, like legal axle weights? Does the OP know how high his truck is, or is he going to find that out under an overpass/bridge?
P.S. The dispatcher was not driving the truck.Freebird135 and Ops85 Thank this. -
If a road trip doesn't pay enough to be profitable staying in motels where I can stretch out & be comfortable, then it doesn't pay enough to run it. -

Thanks for the unsolicited, unwarranted, and unwelcome addition to a thread that only serves to provide advertisement for you. There are plenty of threads about scam CDL/trucker insurance... usually where the attorney doesn't show up for a hearing, causing a warrant to be issued on a driver... but hey, it's only a truck driver, right?
