Which one makes the driver the most money? Seems like there's more work involved in getting a flatbed ready to roll with the tarping, strapping, etc. and the wheels ain't turning so that's why I'm asking.

Don't know about a killing, just looking for a decent paycheck. Been with Averitt for awhile and ain't getting the miles or the money so whatever it takes, that's what I'm willing to do. Long as they keep them wheels rolling.

I do the van thing for an LTL company and I can't complain. We are paid hourly, and we do pretty good if you don't mind working.

Unless you pull for an LTL (like Mack), or are hooked up with a decent grocery chain, you will make more pulling a flat than a box, because there are so many box yanking cos. out there that keep cutting each other's throats for business.

I've been hanging on hoping a local/dedicated gig will open but seems no one has died or retired yet so my hopes are wearing thin. If I'm gonna be out a week anyway, 1,600 miles and loooong waits in between ain't cutting it no more.

Not afraid of physical labor at all. Gained 15 pounds since driving or sitting! and after most of my career running the baby fat off recruits at Parris Island, something to bring me back into "fighting" shape don't sound bad at all.

Off to enjoy the weekend anyway. Hold in the road fellas.

I pull a reefer, and keeping the wheels turning isn't a problem. There is a little more work involved than pulling a dry box though.

I pulled a flatbed for a very short period of time. I have no desire to do that ever again. I will if I have to, because I will never go unemployed due to refusing a job, but I prefer to avoid flatbeds :)
