Are the automatics push button? Basically you have 4 buttons. Drive, Neutral, Reverse, and mode (big boy gear). That is what we have in our fire truck and It pisses me off. I would rather have three pedals and a stick in the middle.

I think many companies have tried a few auto shift trucks...
I just switched to a newer truck...much nicer, but it has a auto shift (with a clutch and paddle shifter )....I think everyone here starts in a stick....and the few auto's around are generly liked by some, hated by others...hense the opptunity to switch fairly early to a better truck for me..
    .
I think understaning and knowing how to shift is very important, but dealing with nyc traffic on a weekly basis is made less hassesome by an auto....

shifting in my car gets tiring during my 30 minute commute in traffic...I can't imagine traffic in a truck.

Become a driver and you won't have to imagine it, it will be reality.
