I am a truckers wife, he is working for Gunther Transport out of Hanover, Md. Please, Do not ever go to work for this company. This company treats their drivers like crap, drive pieces of crap, and wants them to live on nothing. Hubby has been with them 4 weeks now. His first pay check was for a little over $200 last week, and he just got his second check today for a grand total of $70.09. Wow! we sure can live on this BIG money! I'm just going to pray that God will do something with this company for the way they treat others. Always heard Hell ain't half full and I think this company is well on it's way if they don't change their ways.
Thanks For Listening,
Sweetgert

You guys shouldn't get discouraged. For the first month or two a new driver is in a learning phase. It's the hardest time when you start with ANY new company. I'm sure he's frustrated by the new system he's having to learn as well as the used truck he got that needs a zillion bugs that need worked out. He's better off staying put and giving them the benefit of the doubt for at least 6 months. If things aren't better by then, at least he can leave saying he gave it half a chance. 6 months to a year with one company looks better on a application then one month here and one month with 5 different companies. Next time make sure he does his homework on the companies he chooses to work for.

i think this is the very same company where the owner did jail time for logbook falsifications...??
i never really heard anything good about them either.
have your hubby look for something else. try up around the Jessup area, there are companies up there. even into Baltimore, there used to be a refer outfit, Bozman's i believe, Canton Ave exit, just before the Coke-cola warehouse. but there are also companies in that area as well. -
Thanks guys for the info. Yes he did look them up before going to work for them, and figure that since the owner had been in trouble and done jail time before that he had straigthen up his game. Guess not. My huband had been out of work for almost 4 years mostly due to a wreck he was in on the way home one night in his own car. He kept up his cdl class A in hopes of getting back in when the time came he could. That was a laugh, nobody wanted him due that he had been out so long. Gunther was the only one that would hire him. Guess we will tough it out or at least 6 mos., then just maybe a company closer to home will hire him. Meanwhile we are holding on with a hair, but don't know how long with a paycheck like the one he just got. After I paid out car insurance that left only a grand total of 87 cent in the bank. Wonder how far we can live on it ? That's alright, God hasn't never let us down, so I'll just be leaning him a little more in the next little while.
Thanks & God Bless You All Out On The Roads,
sweetgert
PS. Both my hubby and I know how it is out on the road. He has drove trucks off and on for the past 20 years, and I have done the escorting loads out on the road for 6 years, so you see we are no newbies out here. We are just so amazed how companies out here just treat their people so bad. Don't they know it will come home to them one day? -
