Vegetable oil snarls rush hour

    Seems a tanker carrying vegetable oil experienced a failure on US 290 Houston this evening ( bout 5 pm ) and closed the freeway. TXDOT expects the freeway to reopen at 1:am.

    Didn't help that the spill occurred in front of the DPS region 2 headquarters. ( Bet the bears are pissed )

    Didn't help that the driver left the scene either.

    290 from the Sam Houston toll beltway to I610 is a rough crowded road. I hate driving that stretch.

    Gonna get worse...... TXDOT just started a 4 year project to add connector ramps..... ugh!!
