Starting School at National Training Inc in Jacksonville FL

Here is a recap. Yesterday we were on the backing pad, half the day, coupling/uncoupling and pre-trip the other half. I'm getting pretty good at the backing exercises but still need some work. Today we drove to Jacksonville first thing, Holy Crap! The traffic was crazy. At least it seemed that way in the truck. LOL. Today was the first day we got evaluated. I passed but still need to work on a few things.

Also, some advice for anyone thinking about the school. The first 2 or 3 days you're going to think to yourself "What did I get myself into? How am I going to learn this in three week?" Don't worry, it gets easier and easier and your confidence will build.

 

Drove through Palatka FL today Did much better and passed my evaluation. Got one more day of backing and one more day of driving (Last drive is a night drive)(Mon and Tue). Then we start the CDL testing (Wed and Thur). Hopefully All goes well.

Also Got a call from Keturah at Con-Way Truckload and will be attending orientation(bootcamp) on Aug 1. I cant wait.
