I know this may seem like a dumb question but it is one that I am curious to know..... during the first month with Prime and the instructor, during the 4-6 months with the trainer, and how often as a solo company driver do you stop to shower? Is it every day? Every two days?
When I asked the recruiter what "two weeks of clothes" meant she told me 3-4 pairs of pants and 4-5 shirts. I do not know what truck life is like as I have zero experience as of yet but I know that when I have made trips across the country in my car after 2000 miles, I feel nasty and I know I stink.... that is just after 24 hours or so. The idea of wearing the same shirt for several days or the same pair of pants for several days..... lol I guess I am spoiled and I shower and change clothes every day.
So I am just curious, how often does a person actually shower and how much should a person pack for two weeks?
Next question, following the same idea..... how often is actually realistic for doing laundry?
Another question, what is the typical cost for a shower?
Dumb Questions.....

I try to zhower every day and at the minimum every other day. Showers are free with fuel which is something your trainer will explain to you. If for some reason you must pay the average cost is $10. I generally carry 7-8 changes of clothes and do laundry on the weekends at a truckstop or terminal.

That is great information! So during my training period, does the trainer get the free shower during fuel stops and I pay the $10? LOL That could be expensive as a trainee, 30 x $10 = $300 per month to shower! Going a day without a shower wouldn't kill me unless it was an unusually hot day or something....

The only Dumb question is one that goes unasked.
You get what they call "Team Showers" when the trainer gets out you jump in or you shower together :O just kidding, you get your own shower.
I cant imagine two people in a truck not showering and changing clothes everyday.
Laundry was a weekly task for me. I always carried way more clean clothes than I could wear. With two people storage space becomes an issue.

I do not know how big my "bunk" area is but I can sleep next to, on top of, or even under my duffle if I had to! LOL There was a time in my life when I didn't really have a "home" and I drifted between friends and family right out of high school and I learned to live out of an old army duffle. Of course, I always managed to shower every day and washed my clothes regularly.
