It has already shown a difference and you can actually feel the difference when you first drive with them with alot freer rolling truck.
Can't wait to have the rear ends done.
You guys in Europe might want to check with some for F1 teams over there because I know this technology has been in racing for at least 15 years and has even progressed and developed even further. All the bearing manufacturers know of or even have this technology in house.
I know Timken sends simular tecnology to NASCAR teams in a hub bearing package. They are real secretive about the process too.
Is 10 MPG Possible with a Fully Loaded (80K gross) 5 Axle Truck?

related to your chassis length
how big is gap between your trailer/tractor
do you maybe consider to cut your chassis or maybe move heavy equipment from front axle to rear end like fuel tanks air barrels batteries to be able to move your fifth wheel little more forward
related to gap in EU
it is 200mm or less than 8 inchs on because of reffer agregata
also now scania offers and they are series equipment here 7cm longer side spoilers made of some kind of rubber so they are flexible even if trailer hit them -

Timken is even offering special fuel efficient wheel bearings for cars: http://www.timken.com/en-us/products/bearings/productlist/roller/Ta...#
Fuel Efficient Bearings

Where to Buy
At first glance, you may not be able to tell the difference between this tapered roller bearing and any other. Upon closer inspection, youll find Timken® fuel efficient bearings are lighter and thinner than their standard counterparts. From improved fuel economy to increased reliability, fuel efficient bearings offer exactly what you want to build a better axle system.
Design Attributes
- Power dense design reduces bearing weight by 10-15 percent.
- Controlled set-up torque helps you achieve more accurate settings, resulting in the highest axle performance possible.
- Light duty automotive axles
Advanced tapered design results in a 30 percent reduction in power consumption and up to a two percent gain in vehicle fuel economy.
Improved Fuel Economy
Testing shows that our fuel efficient design significantly increases fuel economy over typical bearing designs. The Pinion Bearing Power Consumption (Fig. 1) below illustrates that the power consumption of a fuel efficient pinion bearing is significantly lower than that of a typical pinion bearing.
Reduced Operating Temperatures
The Axle Temperature Rise bar chart (Fig. 2) shows that an axle running with fuel efficient bearings can have an operating temperature of as much as 30 degrees Celsius less than an axle running with typical bearings. Reduced temperatures can increase bearing oil and gear life.
Less Noise
The loss of pinion position, which causes transmission error, is the main reason for noise generation. The fuel efficient design reduces vibration and provides more stable gear position, resulting in a reduction of noise. The Pinion Movement Due to Wear chart (Fig. 3) shows that a fuel efficient bearing reduces wear by up to 30 percent when compared to a typical bearing.
Reduced Weight
The fuel efficient design features a 10-15 percent weight reduction. The image below shows a comparison of the fuel efficient design size compared to typical designs.

but maybe you should try to go in driving training course this could improve your economy
not so expensive in europe in average ,trained driver can save 10% over untrained driver
since we dont drive so much on highways and there is lot more of city driving your improvement would be probably slightly worse but still worth -
Both Rear End parts micro-polished and coated at MicroBlue yesterday. Should be installed in my truck next weekend with road testing in August.
Also looking at changing my eight Bridgestone M720 11R22.5 drive tires over to four Michelin XDA Energy 455/55R22.5 Super Singles. Been hearing around 1/2 mpg to be gained with a lower rolling resistance?Last edited: Jul 23, 2011
